Global Mode

Sends most traffic through the currently selected proxy policy or node, mainly for testing and special cases.

Global

What Global Mode means

Global Mode sends most traffic through the selected proxy group or node. It is useful when you need to confirm whether a node itself works, regardless of the current rule set.

Because it can route local or normally direct traffic through a remote proxy, Global Mode may slow down domestic websites, local services and applications that are better handled directly.

When to use Global Mode

Use it as a temporary diagnostic tool. If Global works but Rule Mode does not, the likely issue is rule matching, DNS behavior or policy group selection rather than the node itself.

Usage notes

Before changing modes, confirm that the subscription profile has updated successfully and that the selected policy group contains at least one usable node.

Recommended use

  • Use Global Mode briefly when isolating node or rule support checks.
  • Switch back to Rule Mode after testing.
  • Avoid using Global as the default unless you intentionally need one exit route.
